Things just keep getting stranger by the day...
GLAAD is refusing to allow here! Networks to submit for any Media Awards.
here! Networks is a gay and lesbian theme based programming channel.
GLAAD means Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. They are a Media watchdog group promoting fair an equal, accurate an inclusive, representation of gay lesbian bisexual and transgendered people in the media. Their mission is to eliminate discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.
Yet, here! Network cannot submit any of their programs for Media awards nor recognition. Did, I say duh? The reason being is GLAAD wants to applaud mainstream media for a job well done with the on screen portrayal of our lives. Did I say duh? And, I must have slept through this wonderful job, also.
Nothing is ever more frustrating than watching our so-called straight actors with their tongues knee deep down the same-sex's throat and they call it 'acting.' Then they expect an Oscar. For what? One half of them are buried so deeply in the closet they're going to suffocate. The other half look like fish out of water, 'Look at me Look at me I'm playing a lesbian I may get an award. I'm trying to resurrect my dying career.'
Getting heterosexual actors to constantly play gay lesbian bisexual transgender roles is as outlandish as a White man playing an African or vice versus. It's ridiculous and quite tiresome to watch. This is the reason we enjoy here Networks. It's 24/7 LGBT programming. You name it we got it on the Network.
It's the one programming network where I actually see positive images of myself, from my sexual orientation to the color of my skin. I've seen more positive African American men of color on here networks and The Logo Channel than what I've seen on regular television and cable in many years.
So, all I've got to say is something is stinking in Seattle and the garbage needs to be taken out!

I agree with everything you said about the straight actors playing gay. It's majorly aggravating to me.
